Belgian black metallers ENTHRONED have commented on the passing of Ichtys Niger from the Brazilian black metal band EVILWAR.

"We just heard, some month after his 'departure' that Ichtys Niger [drums], from Brazil's EVILWAR, took his life on January 7, 2008," ENTHRONED writes in a statement.

"ENTHRONED toured with EVILWAR in South America in 2004 and we had good memories of those guys and Ichtys Niger (founding member and friend since we met when he served in Brazilian force MURDER RAPE).

"We wish you farewell and we will meet in the next life!"

Ichtys Niger was reportedly found in his backyard with a gunshot wound in his head, the victim of an apparent suicide.
