Heathen is a North American thrash metal band originating from the Bay Area California, founded in 1984 by guitarist Lee Altus and drummer Carl Sacco. They have released two critically acclaimed albums, Breaking the Silence (1987) and Victims of Deception (1991).

What's your opinion on these guys? For me their one of my favourite bands, and their Victims Of Deception CD is my personal best technical progressive thrash cd, riff madness that say to you "headbanging time!!", fast chaotic and sometimes melodic solos, great vocals and amazing drumming.

They re-united in 2002 and rumours say they are releasing a new cd in the near future.

I prefer Breaking The Silence over Victims Of Deception, the songs on there are much more memorable. In no case would I consider Victims of Deception the "best" technical thrash album, but Heathen's material is certainly great, by anyone's standards.
