hi guys from Northern side.We thougt as Advent Northern we may arrange concert together with all cyprus bands.this could be very funny and good arrangement for the youth.But the problem is we are all Turks and have problems with to pass southern side of cyprus.So the concert must be in northern side in kyrenia or nicosia.Wating your replies brothers. hails. also the date could be late for the summer but we may arrange it on september or in any month of fall semester...

ok, this is a perfect idea however the problem starts with finding support from sides..And the passage of the bands.If we can find a solution to this such as playing at the UN-green line it can be perfect.This should be talked with both sides governmental parts i think.

I think it would be better for you to come here and play but anw,whatever

A concert like this it should be organized and promoted by Youth organizations. I’m sure there are a lot of people who are willing to help and support rapprochement concerts.
Though be warned. Music might unite people but in Cyprus we still got a long road till everyone will be ready to accept the established order we have on our “borders” between the two communities.

I agree with you Mustafa! A concert like this would be very good for both sides coming closer together! But a movement like this is difficult since there are people from both sides who are narrow-minded(im not judging anyone specifically), and will be against such an event as the g.cypriots dont like the t.cypriots and vice-versa. This should not get in the way of trying though as i think it's an excellent idea !

The problem is that there are some problems with the turkish government that they do not let the Turkish people to pass the border. At a point its a good decision however the bands, like advern-northern, who likes co-operation about music is affected by it because they can not pass the border to perform at south. Thats why if this is going to happen it should be take place at a place like green-line under the control of UN.

Whatever is needed I'm there. It was about time that we started to co-operate. Relationships should improve, and this is certainly the first step.

yes you have right mustafa,thats a problem..*lol,and if this concert is held under the supervision of the UN, and a mosh occurs, they will go crazy *

I'm sure Eleni Mavrou will be more than willing to take care such event.

Excellent, in a couple of weeks when all exams are over lets meet up and discuss organizing such an event. It can be a great success!

well , it was difficult to organise such an event for Roger Waters of Pink Floyd on the green-line.. it will be also very very difficult for you/us to organise it(anywere ,not specificly on the green line or dead zone) ,but it's still a good idea aiming co-operation between greek-cypriots and turkish-cypriots as you said!

This could be a huge step for Cypriot music in general, not only our little scene.
